Twilight Spectacular!

I had an amazing time at the Bris-style Twilight Markets last night! There were so many fabulous people who came down to King George Square to check all the hand made goodies from the many talented Brisbane designers. A huge thank to those of you who stopped by and purchased your very own GBC original... or even commissioned your own brooch, while jumping up and down and crying out with glee! Yes I'm talking about you, Dana and Annabelle! You are both awesome! :D I will have more breakfast based accessories for you to swoon over in the coming weeks! And your fruit loops brooch and french toast will be ready for the Young Designer's Market tomorrow :D

Another huge thank you goes to the team behind Bris-style (esp. Helen and Bel) who did an amazing job in preparation for last night! Thank you so very much! I had a blast and am very happy to be apart of this wonderful Etsy Street Team!

Now to make so more goodies for the YDM tomorrow! See you there x

New favourites!

Hello again! Here are are my 2 new favourite brooches that I created this morning. The skull on the left was inspired by the Latin American festival called "Dia de los muertos" or Day of the dead.
"The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. The celebration occurs on November 2 in connection with the Catholic holidays of All Saints' Day (November 1) and All Souls' Day (November 2). Traditions connected with the holiday include building private altars honoring the deceased using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed, and visiting graves with these as gifts. Due to occurring shortly after Halloween, the Day of the Dead is sometimes thought to be a similar holiday, although the two actually have little in common. The Day of the Dead is a time of celebration, where partying is common."

The other brooch is, of course, the white rabbit from Alice in Wonderland. My mum sent me some pocket watch buttons and I wanted to use them in a fun way. That's when I thought to do this little guy!

Hope you like them as much as I do! :D Have a great weekend too!

new brooches and new etsy purchases!

Hello there
I just wanted to share some photos of brooches and hair clips that I have been working on for the upcoming markets I mentioned. From top left to right: a pair of pears, teapot and cup, peanut butter jar, poodle, tea bag, mushroom, doggy, daschund, another pair of pears, log!, swallow, ice cream, mexican bean (my favourite!) and the white wolf! Still plenty more to make make make!

I also recently bought this mushroom owl brooch from Candy Bandit's Etsy store. It is awesome! Thanks Gemma! I think it's so nice to support fellow etsians and their craft :D

And I have in my hands there - Wombok from Teddy Bears Wednesday! He's the bear that I had on my wish-list for my birthday and my beautiful boyfriend sneakily bought him for me without me knowing! too cute!

I'm v happy! :D

So lovely....

Here is a story from The Storque, which is Etsy's blog. It's a post that follows the journey of one couple's wedding day and how they created beautiful memories from handmade bits and pieces, etsian store holders, friends and family in the English countryside. You can read the full story here and here is an extract :

"If you're planning your own, let me tell you, we did this on a relatively small budget in about nine months with many favours and much help from friends and family. I can honestly say that all the hours of tissue paper folding, playlist compiling, dance lesson attending, bunting and jam making, and hunting on Etsy really gave us a wedding to remember. When we had finished clearing up and stumbled into the local pub the next day a little worse for wear, the villagers actually gave us a cheer! Now that's a country knees-up that won't be forgotten in a hurry."

I especially love her yellow shoes... you can really bring a personal, quirky and fun (and comfortable!) touch to an amazing day. I love the table of cupcakes too!
It was too cute a story not to share with you,  so i hope you enjoy it as much as I did! It kinda puts a smile on your face... :)

An inspiring quote...

"Try living one day without an unhealthy thoughts. It may be very difficult, but try another day until it becomes habitual and life will more in the direction of becoming healthy, vital and alive.

Some interesting words to ponder for a moment...
